Steven Way is the President of ALPS/Advanced Lighting & Production Services, a Boston, MA area based theatrical and event lighting company he started at age 17 in 1981. By the mid-80’s Steven saw a rise in special and theme events come into the region which afforded him the opportunity to do what he enjoyed most: creating and enhancing environments with lighting.
Steven joined ISES in 2002 in order to connect and network with others in the industry he’s enjoyed so much. Joining the ISES New England Board of Directors in 2006 was his next step in gaining more knowledge about the special events industry and contributing to the success of ISES. Steven is a past President of the ISES New England chapter(2008/2009), served on the ISES International Membership Development Committee in 2009, was Chair of this committee for the 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 years and sits on the International Finance & Audit Committee for 2012/2013.
Steven was honored to receive the 2012 ISES International Volunteer of the Year Award at Eventworld in Dallas. Past awards include the ISES New England Merit Scholarship Award, the Presidents Award, Lawrence A Green Chapter Dedication Award and Spirit of ISES Award. In addition to ISES, Steven serves on the PLASA North American board and several committees.
Steven and ALPS have been recognized for outstanding performance and contributions by ESTA/PLASA, NETC, KCACTF, Citizens Bank and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
In his "spare" time, Steve loves to play racquetball, build sandcastles at the beach...and sleep.
